Recipe Kits
Recipe kits have transformed the way people cook. Their use of innovative, single-serve packaging for ingredients has meant that people can be liberated from the need to buy and maintain pantries full of ingredients of which they may only use a tiny fraction before it goes out of date. It takes the stress out of finding something new. This all encourages people to be more experimental and to widen their range.
The largest recipe kit suppliers are shipping more than 1 billion recipes per year. If 10% of those decide they want a glass of wine to go with their food (which is conservative), that’s 100 million glasses of wine.
So, when we know how popular this approach is for your food, why do we try to persuade customers to buy a full bottle of generic wine, rather than a single-serve portion of something premium that is exciting and perfectly-matched for their recipe? That’s like telling them to buy an entire cake for their dessert.
Other small-format drinks packaging struggles with this. For starters, they are too large and too expensive – a £4 portion of wine is the same price as your main course. You need the beverage to be closer to £2.50 retail to pair with a £4 meal to have broad appeal.
ecoSIP is the perfect partner for paring a drink with a home delivery recipe kit:
A glass of something different per course, paired beautifully
Zero waste
The packaging is small, light and virtually unbreakable
It fits beautifully into the supply chain
The shipping box doesn’t increase in size
Less spent on the packaging; more on the drink itself
